Do Good While You Shop with GoodShop!

It's Day 9 of Diva on a Dollar's 12 Days of Christmas Deals! Today's feature is GoodShop, a site that allows you to donate a portion of your purchase to a charity. Here's how it works:

1) Choose a charity or school. They have a way to confirm that your charity is part of their network. 

2) Shop at one of the 700 retailers they have in their network. Some of the retailers include Apple, Zappos and Target.  

3) Donate. Once you make your purchase, up to 30% of the proceeds will go to your selected cause (many of the ones I saw were in the 3-5% range).

By the way, you can also raise money for your charity by searching with GoodSearch!

Today is Earth Day! I challenge you all to do something good for the Earth - buy some energy efficient light bulbs, educate yourself on how to treat the environment better, or maybe even take the train or bus to work. Whatever you do, remember we all are responsible for this wonderful world in which we live. Let's take care of it!

Turn Your Lights Out: Earth Hour Tonight

Tonight, Saturday, March 28 from 8:00 - 9:00 PM in your local area, turn your lights off to celebrate Earth Hour. Last year, Earth Hour was launched in Sydney to inspire people to care about global climate change. In just one year it has turned into a global movement (even Google has turned their lights off today!). . At 8:00 PM tonight all around the world, people will be turning off their lights to show they care about our country and global warming. Find out more about Earth Hour here.

eBay's 7th on Sale to Benefit HIV and AIDS

Here's another way to be fashionable for a great cause. From November 15 - December 6th a bunch of top designers (think Oscar, Michael K, Marc, Calvin, Donna and more) will be auctioning off some of their items to benefit AIDS during the 7th on Sale. The items featured will be one of a kind and ALL of the proceeds will go to providing care, services and housing to those living with HIV and AIDS. Even better, MAC AIDS Fund has agreed to match every dollar raised up to $500,000. Gotta love MAC!
