My Weekend Shopping Excursion: San Marcos Prime Outlets
I love great outlets! I kept hearing a bunch of hype about the San Marcos Prime Outlets located between Austin and San Antonio, TX. Let's just say, I bought so much that I had to cut myself off to any more stores (didn't even get to check out Escada, Neiman Marcus Last Call or La Perla)!
Bath and Body Works, Barneys, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Banana Republic and Tahari were my faves. Though I couldn't find pics of my Tahari suit that I got for 80% off or the Marc by Marc Jacobs dress for 50% off, or the BCBG shoes I got for $29, here are a couple of my deals:
Guess what I discovered while I was there? They will be getting Betsy Johnson and Gucci over the next few months!

FIG Finale Sale: What We Bought
My friends and I had a great girls shopping weekend in Dallas. Unfortunately the FIG Finale sale was a little disappointing. The selection was great, but I kept waiting for them to do the deep discounts that I experienced back in August. Needless to say, I only bought three items - a two-piece skirt suit and a pair of brown pumps. I love what I bought though! My friend Akosua scored the best deals of us all - she bought two pairs of Modern Vintage Mary Lou boots (one in black and one in brown) for $75 a piece. To give you an idea of how good of a deal this was, Zappos.com has these boots listed as originally $353.95. Don't they look like they were made for her?
I also bought some brown leather Mary Ann pumps also made by Modern Vintage. I had never heard of Modern Vintage but I am very impressed. The shoes are so comfortable and stylish at the same time. The leather quality is also exquisite. The shoes are listed on this site for $189.99. My price? $40! Gotta love it!
I couldn't find a picture of the skirt I bought online (the designer's website seemed to be having issues), but I did find the jacket. The designer is Chalet. They have the jacket here for $167.50 . I paid $80 for the entire suit! I guess it was worth going. I'll just be waiting for the next one in hopes that I can have another shopping experience like the first time I attended.

This Weekend: FIG Finale Sale in Dallas!
Remember my bargain brag back in August? To refresh your memory, I bought almost 15 items and didn't even pay $300! Well the next FIG Finale sale is coming up tomorrow, February 7th (11 am -10 pm) and Friday, February 8th (11 am - 8 pm). Here is a post about it on The Dallas Morning News' shopping blog.
So here's the scoop: admission is 12 bucks (cash). Most places only accept cash (though there's an ATM on site). There are tons of designer items (items I bought included a bra, clutch, shoes, dresses, blouse, blazer and jewelry). Also, no dressing rooms (if there is one, it's quite make-shift) - so wear something that's easy to try things on over. It's located right by Steven Pyles' restaurant on Ross & Akard.
It's kind of a bummer that they are having it on a Thursday and Friday instead of a Friday and Saturday. Regardless, I'm taking advantage of it! I'm taking Friday as a vacation day and am having 6 friends come in town! I'll be sure to post the deals I find. If you go to the sale and get some great deals make sure to submit your photos to me at divaonadollar@yahoo.com.
Also, Neiman Marcus is having their Consolidation Sale where you can get up to 75% off Feb. 7-10. This is at Neiman Marcus NorthPark. The catch: all sales are final!
HAPPY SHOPPING!

Guess who's coming to Dallas (well, maybe...)
Over the weekend while shopping at the West Village I overheard some exciting news: H&M may be coming to Dallas! This would be the first H&M location in Texas. No word on time frame but rumor is that it may be NorthPark bound. I'll tell you more scoop as I hear it...
